Loving women comes easily
I’m grateful to Liz and her offering of easeful, beautiful words and images for today’s Nest-Making guest post, in honor of women and Women’s History Month.
::
Loving women comes easily
welcoming arms have enveloped me
from birth and continuously reach out
to protect me
my mother chose me
fiercely guiding me through life
sacrificing homeland and passion
for her only child
my grandmother’s strong
unforgiving hands provided structure
lessons of strength and will
gentleness surprising me at
perfect moments
from the ocean’s warm embrace
Yemaya
to my mother’s guide
la Virgen Maria
my own goddesses
spirit guides
real life healers
women,
loving them comes easily.

oh sugar, this takes my breath away . . . but then i’ve come to expect that when i see your photos, when i read your words. you have such a way of getting right to the essence and pulling the beauty out for all of us to see. it has not always been easy for me to love women, but it has always been easy for me to love you.
